What is it about adjustible rear sights? Yah, I know everyone "sees" things differently but when we get a gun in the shop and someone wants a "makeover" to stationary rears which involves welding up the slide to make up for the adjustible "scars" I just have to wonder why they didn't get non movables in the first place.

Kimber is a huge offender in the market. Their rears are simply awful. Thankfully there are several sight rear makers who know that Kimber is guilty of such an offense.

OTOH, placement of a rear adjustible sight in a pristne slide is not that bad as the sight is cut/installed exactly in the middle of the slide as well as the front sight. I guess the person who does the cuts needs to have his sh** together or the whole game is off.

You would not believe how many screw ups we get in the shop.

Custom 1911s a specialty

Well I had adjustables put on mine, bomar low mount. The guy who put them on definately had it together. I had one built that I hoped to do everything, IDPA and carry if the law passes. I figured changing loads would change poi enough to want adjustables.
I'll build another gun before I have diffrent sights installed on this gun.
