anyone have an idea what the value might be on a model 1911 made in 1913 and is a military model? the gun condition appered to me as about 90%. it was marked as property of united states. the only thing that i was a little confused on was the markings on the slide, it had all the patent info that i am only really used to seing on some newer 70 series guns. I am going to try to get some pictures of it for futhur detail.

All the military Colts had the patent dates on the slide. Miliatary guns often underwent rebuilding during their service, and such guns are/were often subjected to various indignities of "gunsmithing" later, so the originality and condition will have everything to do with the value. Pics, and a more detailed description would help.

The serial number dates it to 1918. The last date on the slide is a patent date.

Get yourself a copy of the blue book:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/188676 ... oding=UTF8

or try comparing sales prices on Guns America or Gun Broker.
