Hey all,
I'm in a bit of a quandry. I'm thinking of a "retro-old-school-throwback-simple-working-gun" whatever you want to call it 1911 either built on my SA GI or one of my Colt 70's. Now I LOVE the way the "stock" GS looks on a 1911, like these tasty morsels. ...
In current "stock" form, I don't get hammer bite (on either my 1911's or my BHP's), but if I were to go with a hi grip front strap mod like YoBo's or Mr. Harrison's, I assume my risk of "hammer bit" rises? My concern is that if I go with a 1*-ish type build are there any mods done to the tangs that would make it difficult to add a beavertail should I need it? Is it a "there's no going back" type situation? Anyone here have a stock GS with a hi cut front strap that could give me any input?
Thanks,
Rich
