Earlier this year Ted was asked to build a prize gun for the 2006 Single Stack Classic being held at the end of this month in Quincy, Illinois. And while I could easily use up a few thousand words to describe the amount of detail, care, and time spent crafting a gun to this level I think it's best if I let the pictures do the majority of the talking.

The gun shown here is what Signature Grade is all about, a defining no holds barred true custom gun. No detail left unattended, no expense spared, and nothing but the best effort put forth with every file stroke or layer of finish applied to one off hand crafted stock panels.

To go with a piece such as this we called upon our pal Josh Bulman at Bulman Gunleather for a carry rig. By crafting this beautiful and practical two-tone carry rig out of Ostrich, Josh went above and beyond to make something that is not only classy and complimentary to the package but also stands out on its own as a fitting example of his talent. Very nice my friend!

Great match......even greater gun!
I'd really enjoy seeing some 'unknown' take the match and the gat.
Rob has plenty already. :D

I think this year's prize case is going to be the best ever. Between this and John's gun, plus of course the Heinie gun, and I'm sure a few others, it ought to be a doozy.

I don't drool over many guns out there, but this one is fantastic!

What would something like this cost?

Damn it I was going to shoot the single stack classic this year too until the wife told me I had other plans for that week. Maybe next year I can take Robbies gun from him.

Very nice gun. Don't you think all the top shooters have plenty already, though ? :D
Not to mention the freebies they get - to the victor goes the spoils.

I was told that currently the SSC match award prizes on the Lewis system, similar to the GSSF matches. Plus, the winners of stages, classes, etc. who shoot Springfield Armory pistols are eligible to win the prize custom 1911s. Winners of stages, classes, etc. that don't shoot Springfield guns win stock SA Milspecs.

Excellent all the way. I like the color on the grip screws and slide stop end.

Guys, check the polish on the grip screws. In some of the first pictures you can see the photographer reflected in them!

WOW!!!

That is awesome, love the small parts with nitride blueing and the rest off the gun is .....wow!!! I gotta know.... Who's grip safety is that?? It has great lines, and not to mention it's well fitted! Did the rear tangs get welded/ built up, or did it blend in that well to a Springer frame?? Great work as usual.

What a gorgeous gun! My hat is off to you Theo.. And you too Jason for those beautiful pictures.

The leather is stunning, and I know how hard curly worked on the Ostrich to get it looking that good!

That's gonna be some prize!
Lou

Pardon my ignorance in this matter, but what is a "Prize Gun" in this case?
Is it for sale, auction or raffle?
