So whats the consensus on the SA GI Milspecs for custom builds? I see quite a few being turned into very nice custom guns. I know that Colts were prefered a while back....is that still true?

On full-out customs where you'll be replacing most if not all small parts, pick the gun that has the most attractive roll marks to you. If you're building a "minimalist" or "retro" style gun, then Colt may have the edge.
