I haven't had time to post any recently completed work lately and wanted to show this one off a bit. I built this one last fall and had it at the SHOT Show. It was built it to the client's specs on a Springfield Mil-Spec. It features:
Novak Lo-Mount rear -w- .150" wide notch & Gold Dot front sight
Wilson Combat S/S barrel & bushing
Tightened slide to frame fit
EGW firing pin stop & Wilson Bulletproof extractor
Front cocking serrations
GI plug & guide
Countersunk slide stop pin
Ball cuts & lower bevel on slide
Wilson beavertail -w- reshaped 'tail
Yo-Bo ignition parts -w- 3 hole trigger
Scalloped front strap & MSH -w- lanyard loop
Beveled mag well
Davidson Horned Lizard grips
Manganese Phosphate Parkerizing

Oh yeah.... :D

Is the finish Mil Spec grey? or is black and the photos make it look grey?
Looks grey to me and I like it. I 've got something very similar to this being built

I saw this fine pistol at the SHOT show. The finish is actually darker than in the pictures.
I was told that the owner shot this gun in single digit temperature and it functioned flawlessly.

I kinda figured being listed as Manganese Phosphate Parkerizing, the build I am having done the smith is doing a Zinc Phosphate Parkerizing to get the greyish/green parked finish

Mr. Harrison , I REALLY like that one! That's just how I would have one set up except maybe for thin grips.

Sweet looking combat pistol John! I'm starting to get the itch to find another 1911 so I can have you do one for me again. Man is this place dangerous. To my wallet! And marriage too!

There is plenty of great details in each of those pictures, and each one is perfectly executed. Great job John, and congratulations to your very fortunate client!
