This gun is going to be on its way to Alaska pretty soon but before it leaves the shop for good I figured I’d take a few minutes and post a few photos of the gun.

For those who don’t know, this is what a true Signature Grade pistol looks like...

Image

Image

... hand-cut 30lpi checkering, properly angled mag-catch, hand-serrated slide stop...
Image

Image

Image

... a good de-horn, bordered slide, nicely blended front sight...
Image

Image

... serrated rear and some pretty vibrant blue on that slide stop...
Image

... can’t forget the round butt and hand-filed mag-well.
Image

Image

The holster and mag-pouch are worthy of a note too, they belong to Ted and they’re evidence that he once used to carry and shoot these things and not just build ‘em.. eh Theo. :P

That gun is absolutely flawless. Ted, you've outdone yourself. I only wish Caspian still made aluminum frames, because this gun is just that much better for being one. Great job to all involved, and congratulations to the new owner.

Very nice.
Details, details.

Nice Roadrunner too. I once heard that was Milt Sparks' favorite design.

Got to admit, the blending of the grips and the rounding of the mainspring housing with the grips is classic and just plain nice good looking.

I've kind of just run out of words to describe Ted's work, so I think I will just sit and stare at the pics for a while.

True Theo!!!!!

Another perfectly executed gun that has the classic styling plus all of the little subtle details that make it feel so good.

Nicely done.

Awesome Ted! The smooth roundbutt/grip/frame/MSH lines and blending are particularly outstanding :D

Wow is that an alloy frame? Some of the best hand checkering I have seen on a lightweight frame. Awesome looking 1911!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks guys, and welcome back, Todd.

Yes, that's one of our alloy frames - I'm in the middle of a small run of them now. Aluminum's a bit dicey to lay a pattern out on, but once your lines are established, it's not too bad.

I never changed the sight on my Gold Cup because I didn't find anything that didn't ruin the classic Colt flat top. Ned, your sight looks hardcore. I'm glad someone popped this thread. That would bee a cool item to sell in Brownells, but I know the man hours to produce that probably don't make sense.

GDI I think you posted this in the wrong thread unless Ned took his 10 mm to AZ and used it to stick Ted and the boys up for the LW CCO above

Oops, I did. Too many windows open at once. Thanks for pointing this out. I may have overlooked it. Hell, it's Monday and I've only had 2 coffees.

I still want to know if Ted has any of the frames left for a build like this. What an awesome carry gun.
