The custom 9x23 I posted here on LTW awhile back was done via phone & internet tuteledge from Barry. He is a great guy and has helped me immensely to understand the 1911 and building one from scratch. I ran into some issues and I sent it to Barry and he went over it and made some tweaks and we ended up going with a ramped barrel which he had done for me as at the time I had no milling machine. Fast forward three years or so and I now enjoy building 1911s in my (rare) spare time and do so quite well (if I say so myself  ) in no small part due to Barry.

Dr. G. I'll be looking for that magazine to see the write up on your piece and wish you continued success.

It's been too long since I talked to Barry so I'll have to drop him a line.

Well ...."look what the cat drugin"...lol.

Clay was so anxious to get it back in his hot "little hands" that I didn't have the heart to hold it a few extra weeks till I could locate a digital camera. I never expected to see any pics of it on line.
Clay, thanks for posting the pics. Mike, thanks for posting my info, and Josh....you rascal....I tried your cell number several times and was not able to get through to you. I hope you and family are doing well.
Also, Thanks to all of you for all the kind comments on on this unique .45.

Sincerely...
Barry

I am trying to find a couple sets of smooth grips that do not have the MSH pin cut out like these for a couple of projects I have in the works. Can anyone direct me to a source. I know Mr. Yost probably made these.

Try http://www.smithandalexander.com they sell their grips that way and I am sure that there are others also.
