Josh,
Thanks for sharing that pic. Mr. Behlert's work has been both eye candy and inspration for me for a long time.

I bet you get to see a good bit of work from the Behlert shop up in your neck of the woods?

Josh,

Thanks for sharing the photo. Is the gun yours? How does it run?

Maybe we can get Mr. Behlert to tell us about these chopped HPs and what he did to get them to run.

The concept has always interested me.

Thanks,

Ray

Joshua, you have one of my very early mini Brngs before I began to install the S&W sight in the original dovetail and with the spur hammer. Thats a beautiful pic and Ill copy it.

By the waay I have some of my drop in hammer sear sets left for Brng. they are still 100.00 incl shipping. Let me know of any interest.

Do you just cut the mags down and then modify a new spring? Very cool.

Yup, I cut them to length, reform the lips to take the base and cut the spring to suit. They worked fine

VERY COOL. I love the use of S&W sights on guns for that retro look. I'd love to build one like this someday.

Is this HP snubbie about the size of a Colt Commander (slide and butt)?

That HP belongs to a customer of mine. He also has one of Mr. Behlert's chopped 39's. The HP is about an inch shorter than standard and the grip is about 3/4" shorter if I remember correctly. The trigger pull on this HP is really smooth. The gun is really impressive. The picture doesn't do the work justice.

Chopping the slide on fixed barrel auto's isn't too hard. Cutting down the frames sucks. Especially on 39's. Charley Kelsey had the right idea when he made the Devels. He had a new backstrap made, so they didn't need to be cut and rewelded it. I've been tinkering around with a S&W, making a double stack ASP out of it. It's pretty much done exept for making the grips. I thought it would be fun to make a doublestack version. Here's a pic.

The mini Brng is only slightly larger than a Walther PPK, but holds 10 and one.

These minis were always my pride and joy and still are. Im getting all the info together on them and will tell the story shortly.

Yes my son in law who has worked for me for 23 years is still making them just like I did. Art Leckie took over the bus and is 215 766 8681. He does real fine work.

'Ere's a pair o' pics from Art's site ( http://www.leckiecustomguns.com/ )
Austin, I met Art and Kathy at Second Chance I think the year after I met you there. I really took a liking to them both and we had a bit of fun discussing the differences in how we talk (Michigan vs/ New Jersey).

Josh,
Wow, and you were giving me crap about my photography!!!!!!!!

The pics of Josh's double stack "ASP" do not do it justice it is a beautiful gun with a very nice trigger.

What were the last photo tips you gave me? something about using the focus and some light?

Dan
