And you did very well, sir. For anyone who has not looked at these, you need to take a look, but cover your keyboards with plastic, the drool factor is extremely high :D

I was fascinated by the mini-Brownings.

One of the guys that works at the range I use had one of your chopped Hi-Powers but lost it to his wife during their divorce. You can see the hurt in his eyes every time he talks about it and that was more than a decade ago.

Those are fantastic looking guns. Now I know more of where we came from.

Austin, Gorgeous looking work. What some of the newer folks to this don't know is that much of this work was pioneered by yourself and other contemporaries. Not only did you not have a big catalog of aftermarket parts to choose from, but you and others actually are in large part responsible for the parts we can buy "off the shelf". Many thanks for the pics and for making things a bit easier for us as well.

Mr. Behlert,

Thank you for the photos. I'd really like to hear more about the Redhawk you have posted. But, most of all, thank you for a lifetime of service to the shooting sports and our way of life. Your knowledge and ideas are invaluable to modern day gunsmiths and shooters alike. GOD bless you and yours.

Respectfully,
~Jim Keeney

I meant to tell about making a small ring hammer on a spur type when you didnt want the original ring to nip you. I would cut the spur off at a place to receive a cylindrical piece 1/4 in dia and 3/8th longafter squaring the ends, drilling a hole thru the length abou 1/8 dia. With a 1/4 in dia parralell file put a radius in the end of the cutoff spur. Silver solder it in, and be sure to bevel both ends brfore soldering. You can checker the spindle on top and wind up with a no bite hammer. This of course is done when you already have a good trigger pull on the old hammer and you dont have one of my dropins. I had to ad this. ha
