I have seen a number of custom guns, either in the gun mags or on the internet over the past year or so, that feature full house custom guns with different sights. What would be the advantage of using a Heinie rear sight with a Novak front or vice versa? Is it a matter of looks or is there a practical reason behind it?

Badger, Sometimes it's a customer preference. I have some folks who like the idea of the pin that Novak uses. Sometimes it's the location or size of an original dovetail. Sometimes it's just what you happen to have on hand! :D

I havent done an official count but there are alot of sight manufacturers that make sights to fit the Novak dovetails front or rear. XS,Heinie makes a rear ,MMC and Novak probably some more out there but those are the ones that come to mind.
