Steve Morrison is a class act and gentlman, he even supplied pictures of the major metal work as it progressed to keep me updated! This Colt sat in the box since 1991, after a hack attempted a trigger job, and ruined the lock work, and turned my new Colt into a pistol that could not safely be shot. By the time I decided 4 years ago to ask Steve to gut the Colt and start from scratch ... I just wanted the best/hardest parts/finishes so the Colt would no longer be out of service. I really didnt think he would take on the project, but he was more than happy to do the build.

Blue steel Colt entirely gutted, built from frame up.

Frame rails welded/fit to slide. MARS Hard use lock work, Colt sear, EGW HD extractor/FP stop, Koenig Match hammer, Kart NM blue steel barrel, EGW thick flange bushing, Hienie Slant Pro straight 8 night sights, Grieder trigger, S&A grip safety, MARS Gen 1 serrated MSH w/lanyard loop, high cut grip under trigger guard, front strap trued/serrated in Cameo, Ahrends Cocobolo grips, Metaloy matte hard chrome on blue steel parts through out. Light bevel with all sharp edges now gone.

I didnt go with flat top/serrated slide or over the top front strap treatment/crowned barrel, as this build was to maintain many classic Colt features while using the hardest/best parts & finishes. After the Colt was finished and ready to come home, I decided on an arched MSH, Steve and Metaloy came thru on that last minute change very qiuckly, so my friend could finally come home! Chris at Metaloy is great, and Steve has so much patience, thanks again Steve and Chris! Thanks for looking!

JD1 please post pictures of your Morrison Railgun! Steve does do great work. These pictures dont really show all the fine details, and convey how smooth it is after the sharp edges were broken, and the amazing workmanship by Steve. I laid this by my stock Colt M1991-A1, the difference between a stock and custom Colt 1911, is really shocking :D

then looked like this

now looks like this

basically he addded some billet internals that weren't done, flat topped the slide, forward cocking serrations and a re-cerakote.

my rail gun is in the theme more along the lines of this, but a colt with some nice touches done :D
