Colt Commander with some upgrades, new rear 10-8 "U" notch sight with an XS small dot front sight. The slide was bevel gun and a new EGW thick flange bushing wasx fit and mated to a custom spring cap. A new 10-8 flat trigger was installed and fit to an EWG sear and disconnetor. The original Colt hammer was relieved on the surface grinder. The grips are desert iron wood by John Hoskins in Texas. A Smith and Alexander MSH with magwell was added and matched to the front strap serrations. Finish is hot blue by TWP.

Gorgeous work. After carrying a Government model for years then switching to a 4" Compact/Officer's model, I finally picked up a Combat Commander and pronounced it...just right.

It's in another gentleman's hands at the moment, being made into my (and his) idea of what a 9x23 Win carry pistol ought to be, but I would be awfully proud to have this fine example on my hip, too.

I'm curious about the flat trigger. I understand the idea of the same finger press along the entire trigger pad; having not used one on any of my other 1911s, how noticeable is the effect? Was this one your idea, or your client's?
