Thanks, Mark!
I haven't been able to post a pic on a forum since the 1911 forum changed to vB3. Now to get something worthy to post.........

I'll second the purdy by Tim, and raise it to a beautiful looking Commander. Very nice work John. Man, this place is certainly shaping up to be something special. 8)

Exceptional Commander John! I truly appreciate the feel of a smooth gripped Commander and because of this preference, most of my own pistols wear the smooth grips. This pistol has that "pick my up and shoot me" look to it! :D I can almost feel this pistol!

I had the opportunity to watch Mr. Forsyth gun took shape from just frame and slide to the finished product in the pictures. Let me say that the gun is even nicer in person. Attention were given to all the little details, the most stunning feature was how smooth the slide cycled. I thought they were two pieces of greased up glass sliding on each other. An IDPA Master class shooter offered to buy the gun right off John after a match. :)
Welcome John.

The basic thing I wanted was a Colt Combat Elite. But, everyone I found was just not that good. So, I just comissioned John to build me the perfect Combat Elite. We started with a Caspian SS frame and blue slide, cut just like a Colt. We just went with good quality parts, i.e., Kart barrel, Ed Brown, Cylinder and Slide, and Novak sights.

What sets this pistol apart is how well John put it together. The front strap is checkered 25LPI and the main spring housing is also at 25LPI, it's balanced. The slide was parked, then John did the teflon finish over that. The frame has a real nice brushed finish. The trigger is superb, the slide feels like it is on linear bearings, and it locks up like a bank vault. On top of that it's much more accurate than I am and I have more than a 1000 rounds through it with out a single failure of any kind. I told John this gun would be used in both IDPA and USPSA, not interested in a safe queen, I wanted a shooter. I got just what I wanted.

And the Novak adjustable rear sight hasn't blown up yet. :)
