Today was a photo taking day, so here is our SRT package with a few additions:

- Upgraded Spegels
- Beavertail
- Hi-cut front strap
- C&S action parts
- Our reduced trigger travel and reset mods. (This one is set at just under .090").

Yes, you do see a little edge wear as I built this for myself and it gets shot. :D

Enjoy the photos:

Very nice. I like the high-cut. BHPs feel great in the hand anyway, and I bet that would be even better.

Ray,
Why would you shoot at that beautiful pistol? Good thing you can't nearly hit anything...

Nicely done BHP, Ray. You guys use stock hammer springs? They seem so overly strong to me.

jdberger, the Brecht you're quoting, did he work for the Krupp family?

Ned,

Probably not since he was an anti-bourgeouse Marxist. Here is a little history.
http://www.cs.brandeis.edu/~jamesf/good ... t_bio.html

He has a much better quote regarding the destruction of fascism and the repetition of history that I really wanted to use (but since this is a family site - except that part about Tim and Bailey in prison - I didn't think it was appropriate) I've sent you a PM regarding the quote.

Sorry to hijack the thread.

Now...back to Mr. Harm's amazing BHP and your regularly scheduled programming....

Dear Yost-Bonitz,

I have a Hi-Power in your shop that was giving me headaches trying to decide what I wanted. I have a pretty good idea now.

Ray, that HP just kicks arse. Awesome job.

Nice to hear you shoot it - what good are they if you don't use (not necessarily abuse) them ?

That HP looks dangerous, Ray. I don't want anyone to get hurt with it, so perhaps it would be best if you sent it to me for safe keeping........

Thanks for the kind comments from everyone.

Ned - Yes I used the stock springs to keep it locked up longer and be as easy as possible on the barrel/slide locking lugs. The trigger still ended up a very nice 5 lbs. measured, but feels like 4 lbs. on a 1911.

CT - I know what you mean, almost like those evil black rifles, I'll get it right out to you so that it can be quarantined and kept under watch.

Best,

Ray

What is the total package price on a customer-supplied BHP for this SRT+ package and what's the customary turnaround time on work like this?

Dave,

Give a call at the shop to discuss.

Best,

Ray

Marsh,

It is ours. They get hand built at the shop starting with a factory Browning safety.

Best,

Ray

I'm glad to see this one back near the top. It's one of my favorites.
When this gun appeared here late last year, I think it took me all of about two weeks after seeing it to get a BHP boxed and shipped to Y-B. I'm getting virtually the same setup, minus the beavertail.

I go back and forth on them.
I don't hate their looks like some do; but if I don't need it, I don't see the point of me getting it.
But that's the thing- I don't know if I'll need it.

Some of the BHP hammers out there bite me, and some don't. With their premium trigger job, Y-B uses what looks like the newest variation of C&S's hammer. I've never used that hammer on one of my BHPs so don't know if it will bite me or not until I try it.

I figure if I want/need it, I can always send the gun back in a couple of years for the beev.

If it's tactful to ask here what does the extended tang add to the price of the package listed on the website?

Thanks!

Amazing looking Hi-Power.
