Hello members of LTW,

I am new to this particular forum and discussion group, but have heard quite a bit about the site by a friend who obviously spoke very highly of this site. From what I can see so far, I think I will enjoy reading and conversing with the fellow members, and hopefully I can add or contribute to future discussions.

Allow me to introduce myself and give a little background on me. My name is Robert (call me Bob) Miller, born March 26, 1977. A graduate of High School and currently, after 10 years of working in the job field, I decided to go back to school for a degree in Mechanical Engineering at Bradley Universiy in Peoria, IL. I have spent 10 years in the Machining and Manufacturing industry running CNC and Manual machining equipment at 3 Major Firearm manufactring facilities. For the last 10 years I have been working with AR-15's, M203 Grenade Launchers, and M-60 machine guns. For the last 3 years before becoming a full time student, I spent my time learning Custom Pistolsmithing and participated in the building, machining, assembling, testing, tuning, and finishing over 700 custom pistols and well into the thousands of production pistols.

Once again, I look forward to participating on this forum and possibly helping in any way that I possibly can.

Thanks,
Bob

Hi Bob--

Welcome, and it looks like a great start on your site. I love that pointy-nosed trigger guard! Sounds like with your background, you'll have a lot to contribute here. Thanks for joining up--
Ned

Welcome, Bob!
It is a nice house here.

Hmmm. Lets see....You've been building guns. Going back to school in Peoria.
If you were building guns anywhere near Peoria, I've got a couple of guesses where you worked.

Due to trademarks and copywrites, I can't say (from what they have told me) where I worked.

I would like to say that in my spare time, I like to toss "Rock"s into "Rivers" with my good "Arm". I have even drove by "Springfield" Illinois. I have even talked with my friend "Lewis" about "Machines" and some of his "Tool"s for sale.

Just something to ponder.

Bob

Woooo!

And he's cryptic, too!! :D

Welcome, you get to see some really nifty stuff here and learn some amazing things - without most of the static that pollutes other gun boards.

(there is this wierd 'thong' thread going on, but since I'm from San Francisco, I don't understand what everyone is talking about.... )

Thanks for welcoming me to these Forums everybody. I'm sure it will be one of the top 3 learning experiences for us all (my Physics instructor starts each day with this line).

Wow Damian, you seem to be everywhere...one can't escape the watchful eye of DW and the Adco crew huh?

A quick update, My BATF agent double checked my status the other day and my application is still in the field office...Checking to make sure I'm not a terrorist and such. If I havn't heard anything by the end of November, I am to contact him again to see if there has been any changes or updates. I will let you all know as I get the info. I am excited about this adventure and hope that I find some sucess in the end.

BP, thanks for everything - This gentleman is one of the biggest reason Miller Custom was put into motion. He will be forever known as my first customer (as requested) and friend.

Robert Stanfield of RB Precision is also a firm supporter. Check out http://www.rbprecision.com for AR parts and products. Be sure to check out his Evolution stock system for converting your Ruger 10/22 into a sweet AR furniture compatable rifle. You really have to see it to believe it. Let him know who sent you.

Does anyone know the specific dates for the Shot Show? It looks as if I will be attending the Superior Arms and RB Precision booth for a few days on the weekend schedule. The crew at both the above companies invited me to attend under their wing and display some work, fliers, cards, and introduce myself to some of the public. I would love to attend the entire show, but I am attending school, and that is right at the beginning of the semester...so it looks as if the weekend is all I will be able to swing.

Well, thats all for now. Thanks again.
Bob

I am in the process of making reservations now. My travel agent is setting up a package for me and my father to fly down on thursday and leave sunday.

I have also talked with Robert from RBPrecision and he confirmed that he was going to set me up with a spot in his booth to display some work and meet a few people. I will let you know of times and days I will be working and not walking around.

I am excited now...hopefully my FFL will be here by shot show so I can actually present myself as "open for business".

Thanks to everybody,
Bob
