Got this one from Mr. Williams a while back and wanted to post some pics. I will defer to him for all that was done but basically I wanted a good trail gun that shot as flat as my wheel guns. I think this one will do to "ride the river" with.

My apologies for the less than perfect photography.

Great! There seems to be a minor up-tick in 10mm interest.

Saw one the other day with a very small-print rollmark on the slide's right side, I had never seen one like it before. They look great with the Delta emblem transplanted on to some "real" like that (as opposed to the ycky rubber ones they come with)!

cigardad,

Thanks for sharing. Another example of Don's fine work. I'm sure she shoots as good as she looks.

Regards,
Aubrey

Beautiful pistol. Enjoy it. Don is one of those guys (and we are blessed on this Forum with several) who is not only a great pistolsmith, but a wonderful gentleman. When I grow up, I want to be Don Williams! :D

By the way, please don't anyone here tell Don that I said anything nice about him. I don't want him to get a fat head!

Best regards to all,
Jeffro (Jeff)

That Delta looks fantastic. Congrats to all. Something about HC'd Deltas....well any 1911 for that matter.

Mr. Blackburn was kind enough to post these pics he took, as I didn't shoot any. Thank you sir and glad you're enjoying your Delta.

Congrats. I'm sure that anything Don builds is going to be a joy to shoot.

He builds a great gun and is a good guy to boot. What more can you ask?

Best,

Ray

Nice blaster, Don! That should be a favorite for many years to come. Thanks for showing the pics as we don't get to see enough Action Works eye candy. 8)

I think the hammer is an STI. Looks kinda cool. That is a VERY nice looking gun!

Bob, Actually, I have pictures, but I'm not a very good photographer of things gun, and it's been so long since I've posted any pics anywhere, I have to remember what to do. both Steve and Mark and Chuck have volunteered, so I reckon I may have to call them for some help.

Theophorus, indeed, the hammer is an STI spur variety. Also, Cigardad (AKA Don) had me widen the notch on the Novak rear for a crisper sight picture (helpful when ones eyesight is no longer 20-20). Frontstrap and M/S hsg were checkered @ 25 lpi, CMC beavertail, lanyard loop added to the M/S hsg, and the usual reliability work, match bushing and re-crown.

what kinds of Delta Elite type guns can you custom makers build? guessing 1911 model style, with 10mm innards. Is it difficult to do?

i think it'd be a fun project and maybe beginning a heirloom gun fer my kids kids...

OatWIllie, As the Delta Elite is all 1911, you can do anything to the Delta that can be done to any garden variety 1911, with the added benefit of a cartridge that is as accurate as the 45 ACP, feeds well in the 1911 platform, and can be loaded lightly for target, stepped up in velocity for self-defense or hunting, and, like the 45, manages to maintain it's accuracy in all these guises. :D Best,

Ned, this is the side of my Delta. Is this version common? This is the first one I've owned.

"....Ride the river with...."

What an apt description for a clean, gorgeous piece.

I know such a masterfully built Colt, in 10mm no less, would give me great comfort on my hip, should I find myself in harm's way in the middle of nowhere! :D
