Hi I’m new here today, my name is Chris and I’m in Salem, Oregon. I came here looking for information about who might do some work on a Springfield Armory 1911A1 style pistol. I came across a post on the 1911 Forum where a member had posted a pic of his SA where a gunsmith had worked over the "blocky frame" and refinished it. I’d like to find someone who offers this service. The following is the original post. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Chris

Here's my favorite. It started out in 2001 as a "blocky frame" Loaded Stainless. I had my gunsmith recontour the frame, replace the FLGR with a stubby guide rod, do a ramp polish, fit a new extractor and a MGW match bushing, install a removable magazine well, and refinish the whole thing in a matte bead blast finish.

Shoots as nice as it looks, and runs like a top.

Chris-

Chuck Rogers did one for me a few years back... the work was, as always, first rate! Just as you'd expect. I highly recommend Chuck's work, but I am sure any of the smiths on this board can and will help you out. I am positive you'll be very happy with any work done by any of these gentleman on this board. Pick up the phone next week call Chuck or Ted or Don, and ask them.

Happy thanksgiving!!!!

Mark

Hi Chris,

You're not by any chance an MCSO patrol deputy, are you?

Mark,

Thanks for the heads up. I’ve actually got a Gold Cup Chuck has done some work on. I’ll give him a call next week or so.

Sparky,

No, I’m not a Deputy with MCSO. I’m a Broker with RE/MAX.
