Kind of a matched pair......but not really.
I will be taking both of these to the SHOT show.

Beautiful, Chuck. As usual...

Were they built concurrently? I know how hard it is to duplicate prior work after it's been finished - if that's the case, these are even more special.

Ted,
Little attempt was made to produce a pair. Basic machine work was performed as a pair, with a few variances.
I just wanted what you see, a couple of gats......the same but different! :?

Chuck... phenomenal work... verrrry pristine indeed. The attention to detail is amazing.

Please tell us what finishes those are on the two guns.... I'm guessing polymer. Absolutely clean and beautiful details and finishing! :? Amazing work.

Never mind the guns, I'm just glad Chuck is gonna be there. This way I can confirm that he really, truly exists.

Absent of Chuck's input... can anyone confirm that the finish is probably one of the polymer finishes? Sure looks great. I think it's a polymer finish, but I didn't realize that such a finish could look so good. Must be mostly the prep of the metal before finishing that gives it such a perfect look. Not that the application of the finish is unimportant.

Over in the thread at 10-8 forums, Chuck gives the build list and says the finish is Gun Kote over parkerizing.

Chuck... thanks for the pics and for the mod list... that's a truly inspiring "gat"! It's also given me the confidence to choose GunKote as a finish for a fine 1911.

Man is that INCREDIBLE!!! I think that this is the first time since I was a teenager that a picture has given me cold-chills like this one! I hate to think what my old shrink would have said about THAT!! (Any Head-shrinkers in this forum looking for a new patient--I figure if you're in here I'll get a fair evaluation!) Mr. Rogers that is breathtaking!!

Greetings Chuck

As a user and appreciator, not a builder, what impresses me most about your artistry is the perception of total visual form your guns present.

The lines and surfaces of your pistols are all so precise and clean. I marvel how simple you make complexity seem to be.

Respectfully, Maurice
