Here are a few photos of a reissue Series 70 I just completed. Hardchrome by Tripp. The owner wanted the pistol to appear serious but basic; modern yet timeless. A classic. The final interpretation was left up to me. This is what we came up with.....

The perfect 25LPI checkering on the frontstrap is by my buddy, Pete Single.

Image

I serrated the rear of the slide at 40LPI to match the Heinie rear sight.

Image

The 40 LPI pattern from the back of the slide and the rear sight is repeated once again on the front sight.

I handfiled in a basic magazine well bevel.

Thank you for looking!

Beautiful work. That would be about a perfect carry/home defense gun.

Now that I have this gun in my hand all I can say is I am very, very impressed with it! I am extremely pleased on how it turned out and is exactly how I envisioned it when Bob and I started putting together the specs. This is my first hardchrome gun, and really like the matte tactical no shine look of the gun. The 25lpi checkering is the only way to go IMO as I do have a couple of Wilson's with 30lpi and can really feel a difference. Not too agressive, but just enough bite to really seed the gun into your hand. I am confident the high cut front strap, and the high cut Brown beavertail safety will really benefit me as I do have small hands and this gun just feels really good as it sits deeper into my hand. The 40lpi serrations at the rear of the slide and the slight flattening Bob did on the rear of the slide (a first by the way for him) came out perfect. The entire rear of the gun just flows. I am really glad I went with the Heine's. I can't say enough about Bob and feel fortunate he built my gun for me. I feel I we have become friends. This was a very important element to me during this process, and not once did he ever make me feel I wasn't important or he didn't have the time to talk to me. I felt like he really connected with what I was wanting accomplish in this gun, and as you can see he made it happen. I will follow up with a range report soon.

It's not often that I comment on other people's guns, but I'm very impressed by this one. :D

That is a basically beautiful pistol and it looks like a shooter.

I look forward to your range report.

That pistol suggests Basics in Art Form.

Beautiful gun and work!
And, dms, I like the job you did planning it out. It's everything I'd want/need/wish for.
