I was in a local shop the other day and a Commander caught my eye. The slide and barrel are Colt, but the frame is not. The only thing I found on it was the SN, which was F, followed by four digits. The frame does not look to be very high quality, and the mainspring housing and trigger look like the kind that come out of a gun show parts bin. I could use the top end on a project, but the frame itself looks like it isn't worth much.

Any ideas?

Hi Geraldo,

If this frame is in alloy and shows an engraved rectangle on the right side of the grip written RMT El Monte, Ca.

This is made in California by Ranger Machnine &Tool. I have two of them, not so bad for some experiment projects, the ramp cut is correct for .45 caliber, never tested another caliber. All holes positions are correct.

These frames are machine cut from an aluminium bloc, not molded or metal injected

Hope it helps, :)
Butch
