I just finished this one, Ted of course helped me through the process, but believe it or not I am keeping this one. Again, tons of fun, and I will let you know how it shoots.

Take care all!

9:45 p.m. here, coffee freshly brewed, Sonique MP3 player loaded with nearly 250 random play 50's tunes set at a volume perfect for tinkering, three perfectly blended MSH's ready for fluting, photos of Steves new beauty printed in full color pinned at just above eye level for inspiration, and it's time to unwind for the day and stare at Steve's pictures and remember why I can sit back and enjoy this cup of coffee as I do. Great work Steve! Don't you just love your job?! ;)

Of course you realize that as soon as you build your next 'keeper', this one will go on the auction block.

Beauty job, Steve. Keep it up.

Cheers, Tim

Steve,

Turning out work that looks as sharp as that will quickly get you into a situation where you no longer have time to build your own guns for all the customer work that you'll get! Super good lookin' blaster. Keep 'em coming!

Agreed John. How many of your guns can't be shot because you robbed parts off 'em?

I'm not sure which pile 'o parts constitutes a gun anymore. The last personal gun project that I did took about a year to basically fit a barrel, sight in, tune to feed empties, clean up a number of years of getting bumped and scraped and then get it chromed. I have big ambitions of building a Series '70 for me when I get caught up. Right!

Thanks for the comments guys. The mistakes on this one are fewer than the last and that is what Ted expects. I have finished my own carry guns for work and am now going to concentrate my efforts on helping Ted where I can. Probably know enough now just to be dangerous.

Seriously, like my real job which I would do for minimum wage, my time in the shop is very important to me. Things happen for a reason and Ted is a better teacher and mentor than he probably realizes.

Mark D, I wanted to post more pics but for some reason the downloads wouldn't work. Probably me. I had another gun I wanted to post as well. I'll try later this week.

Take care all!

Bailey's old guns are never auctioned off. I have it on good source that they are placed under the witness protection program and are relocated to a quiet suburb in metro Los Angeles.

Those are beauts.... I would love to get my sticky fingers on that ORM one....you said it Steve, that is one serious fighting pistol; that is exactly how I would build one just for serious work.

Well if that’s what you want to call it okay... but the way I understand it one very lucky fellow has ended up with a couple of Bailey’s guns. More on the way too?

In the original Post of this thread you promised to let us know how this shoot's. Is the barrel a stock Colt. Beautiful pistol by the way. Our taste's seem to be alike.

That gun shoots great, just like we hope they do. The accuracy is what you would expect from a fit barrel. The reliability Ted insists on is also evident. This is about how I like the carry guns as well.
