After reading what goes in to a "Signature Grade" pistol, I was wondering what the process was for something basic like the 1* and who completes the various tasks on each pistol.

I recently received my 1* and I am very pleased.

Not sure if he does all the work on the 1* guns, but Tim Cronin did most of the work on mine I believe. Im sitting here (im)patiently waiting for the fed ex man to drop my 1* elite off, checking the tracking number every 5 minutes and all

I was hoping someone from Y-B would comment on this.

Then call them and ask them directly...

BTT and bumping ones own post is not something you see here often.
Its a smaller board so its really not needed.
If you have a question about a specific Smith and you don't quickly get the answer here its best to call them or Email them.

Everyone of the Smiths here on LTW are VERY friendly guys and love to help people in the 1911 world when they have a moment.

As you can see from Cypher post if you did a quick search you would have found the answer to your question here and it was just recently covered.

Good luck
