With the proliferation of Novak sights out there that do not preform as
well as I prefer in the one hand/belt slide rack reload, I got to thinking
" Who makes a bullet proof rear sight with a shelf to assist in the said
manipulation ?"

I just replaced my Novak rear sight with the Yost Bonitz Professional rear sight and could not be happier.

Novak's now makes a variation of their rear sight that allows for better one-hand manipulation. It is on their website.

I just received a couple of the Yost Pro sights for my Baer TRS and Wilson CQB. It was a tough decision between the Yost and the 10-8 but I think the Yost will work better with the wider notch.

On a side note, the notch on the website is listed as 0.140 wide, both mine measure 0.132?? Anyone else measure the opening?

Here is my Nighthawk with 10-8 rear and Novak tridium front. I couldn't be happier but then I've never had the Yost sight which prolly works as well. I like the plain black face of the 10-8 against the white dot of the front.

I don't think this thread should turn into a pi#$%@& match between the 10-8 and Yost camps, I thought the original poster wanted some options for replacing his Novak rear sight that wouldn't hook on his belt. Yost makes one, 10-8/Yam makes one, and they would both probably fit the bill. Hell, Mars Armament is working on one, and I think Chuck Rogers has one too.

Keep it on topic. This is not a place to start bashing people.

I recently purchased and EGW customized Kimber Warrior and it has the Yost Pro Sight as a replacement to the rear and still maintaines the Tritium dot front. Though I have not shot it yet, the sight picture is really nice, much better than many that I have seen. The Pro Sight should also work very well for one handed malfunction drills.

Update - I talked with Jason about the width difference and he told me there were a few made undersize due to cutter wear and that he was gonna replace them for me. Great service from a great company!

Thanks again Jason and the Yost crew!
