Is it detrimental to tightly fit 1911's to feild strip for cleaning after every range seesion or should they be soaked with the grips off in a solution?

I dont see that if you properly field strip the gun that it would be detrimental. There are a few different techniques to minimize wear when you disassemble them. Soaking imo doesn't do a whole lot if you dont dissassemble it and remove the junk from inside anyway.

Treat it like any other 1911 with regards to field stripping, I'd say.

When I had my double-lugged Springfield Armory M1A Super Match .308 bedded by GA Precision, the advice I was given by several M1A users was to not strip the rifle down except once a year or ~ 1000-1500 rounds, because it would accelerate the wear between the lugs and the bedding, and those tolerances were critical to fine accuracy.

1911's ain't like that; field strip it all you want.
