Hi picked up a beat up - cut up piece of crap frame for a 9mm 1911 commander for cheap.

I thought I would use it on a .22 conversion as a plinking gun. i then decided maybe I would like a nice 9mm. However I thought it was to bad off and who ever I sent it to would tell me to use it as a paper weight.

Not John Harrison - he saw the dieamond in the rought and created this master piece.

John can work magic and is very easy to work with.

enjoy the pics - more added

Would you believe that beavertail involved a frame weld up!!

Now there is some useful information. :-)

Seriously, better than a Golden Retriever and a Jeep?

I guess I should check with John to see if he needs a wingman.

Oh yeah, very nice commander. Love the two tone Colts.

Thanks for the pictures. I am considering a series 80 38 super commander with a 9mm barrel. I do not know what to do with it, Yet. :?

I may not have any idea.

Now I may. :D

Rob, that is one fantastic pistol....CONGRADULATIONS!! I know you've been wanting one for awhile now, and now you don't have to lust after the Pathfinder that I am in the process of buying! Hope you are enjoying the new job and having weekends off for a change....perfect time to try this puppy out!--John

"John Harrison is a Freaking genius & the chics dig him!!"

Well, as good as that sounds to me, the truth is more like I'm a freak and wish I was a genius! Stan said something about me and golden retreivers, but I think he must have overheard my wife telling me that I smelled like one.......

But seriously folks.............. Thanks for your kind comments!

I'm just glad to see that John has gone full-time. He really does some amazing work.

Relative to smelling like anything, well I am going to stay a long way away from that one. :D

Nicely done John.

Ray

Well guys, I took her out for a run on friday - and man did she run and run and run.

I have never had a 9mm 1911 and was wondering if it would be a stove pipe machine as everyone says. I put 200 rounds thru it before my first and only FTF. It was dirty as hell but I didn't clean it just to see how many more I would have.

Well that would be a big fat 0!!

It was also giving me tight tight groups, low recoil and cheap shooting rounds.

I could not be happier!!

I know how much the chics dig John - but know I think I am starting to dig him too!

A big public THANK YOU MR. HARRISON!!

That John is a rockstar !

Nice 9mm and the commander size is the perfect platform for the caliber. Your gun turned out great, makes me want to take mine out and run some rounds through it.

Congratulations.
