"Policia Federal Colt Automatic Calibre .45". The internals are modern aftermarket parts including the Kart National match barrel, Harrison Design & Consulting retro ignition set, Harrison rear sight and a 14K gold bead front sight. The thumb safety, slide stop, steel trigger, mainspring housing, grip safety, mag catch, etc. are all modified original commercial Colt parts from the early 1930's. The frame rails were laser welded and the slide rails were remachined and trued before refitting. I remachined the cocking serrations and I added ball cuts to the slide. The marking were touched up exactly as they were originally done, which is crooked in some spots. The rollmarks from Colt are straight but some of the "Policia Federal" markings that were added later(probably in or around 1943) were a little bit off. We matched the original markings as they were . The entire pistol was hand polished to a 600 grit. The round portions of the pistol were then burnished and the slide flats were stoned and brought back to a true 600 grit hand polish before I blued the pistol. I nitre blued all of the pins and screws and the trigger and added a set of handmade walnut grips. Neat piece of history..... Not a restoration but what I call a vintage custom.

Thank you guys for the complements. Whether we all show it or not, it means a LOT to every craftsman who puts many hours of work into something and people say nice things about it. Thanks, JT

I would buy that in a heartbeat !

These "vintage"/"retro" guns appeal to me more and more as I get older.

Here it is in its current configuration. Vintage elephant ivory with vintage deep dish Colt emblems were a great match for this gun.
