This was a Colt that was recently sent back to Banker (aka Mark),
one of our members. It was the second trip, as it originally got some minor work a couple of years ago, but Mark decided to go a bit further with it.

She is a beauty and Banker is a fortunate man!!!!
That grip safety fit is one of the BEST I have ever seen.
Donny, you need to post pics FAR more often. Guys like me need all the inspiration we can get.

Don, I concur with everyone above...absolutely great looking gun. Hey! I thought you said you couldn't take pictures, those are fantastic. What did Banker win the lottery?

Mr Williams,

I was originally going to state the obvious. How beautifull it is, how amazing the fit and finish is. But as I look at the pics I keep getting the impression that there is something I am missing. I am looking at the parts that make up the whole, looking at the whole pistol and realized that it just looks perfect.
Congrats!

Gorgeous, DON!!!

So many fine details all over that pistol. Among many other things, that thumb safety was fit and blended with tremendous care and craftsmanship...I love how the arc sweeps and perfectly matches the arc of the frame.

Bravo! :D

WOW! You get 'out of the loop for a couple of days and see what happens!

To say the least, I'm excited about having this one home. I just spent the last hours shooting some pics of it. Then, I log on here and see that Don has taken some really nice ones. I thought you told me they wern't very good.

Now, here's the sad part of the story... (Sound of violins in the background). Friday night I worked until after dark. No range time. Yesterday, I had to be out of town to a middle-school basketball tournament most of the day, then at the office until after dark. No range time. Today, church in the morning, then took the family in to Colorado Springs for some shopping. Damn near dark when we got home. No range time. Lastly, Examiners from the OCC (our regulator) arrive tomorrow for two weeks. I'm guessing no range time.

Feel free to cry for me. Hopefully, I'll post some more pics tonight and a range report as soon as I can!

OK. No shortage of pics in this thread!

I upgraded the stocks between Don's pictures and mine. The Craig Spegel stocks I originally had on the gun were nice, but I had this set at home, and I think they look marvelous on the Colt

The USAF gear isn't mine. It belongs to a good friend who served for 30 years. It just made great props for these pics.

Ted Yost's Gold Line front sight. I like these so much that I now consider them a "must have" on my pistols.
Image

Don opened up the rear sight a bit for me. As my eyes age, I think it'll be a big help.
Image

Every component on this one is top drawer including Cylinder & Slide firing components.
Image

Perfectly executed ball end cuts.
Image

Checkered front and rear at 25lpi. Perfection!
Image

Even a klutz like me can get a magazine in here!

Don, thanks again for all your hard work on this project. I have a great sense of pride carrying the magnificent pistols you've built for me. I (not so patiently) look forward to the next one coming home!

-Mark

I don't see what you're whining about. Just send it over the hill and I'll give it a workout for you..........

Your pics are great. Really shows the detail of Don's impressive work.

I figured I'd get kind, generous offers like that! I think I'll wait just a little longer, but if I don't get to shoot it soon...

Banker: Congratulations!

Don: Just what I'd expect... Perfection! Thanks for taking the time to post pics. As Chuck as said more than once, we need to see more of your excellent work. Keep it up.

Regards,
Aubrey
