The 1* package is one of the most common guns that are built at the shop. They are everything anyone needs in a 1911 and nothing you don't. However, a great number of shooters like things like beavertails, night sights, and a little something on the fronstrap. Well we call that the 1* Elite. Here is a rendition of it from Theo's bench. Very nice gun.

Nice set of Cocobolo wood slabs.

Polished flats and the silver inlaid 1* symbol.

Little extra touch from the shop.

Beavertail grip safety and thumb safety.

Match fit trigger.

Hand beveled mag well and Yost lanyard loop MSH.

This is becoming a very popular package, hope you enjoy the pics.

Also, please see the progress picture of the LTW #2 gun shown here. http://www.louderthanwords.us/forum/viewtopic.php?t=246 This gun is very dialed in. I can't wait to see this one. 8) 8) 8)

A very clean yet "classy" look. Steve, your ability to take quality pictures is exceptional! I'd be willing to bet with the right amount of make-up and lighting you'd make a Glock look appealing to me. Then again.......?

Thanks for taking the time to post the pictures, they are truly appreciated.

Thanks Steve-

That's what I requested on my forthcoming 1* and I wanted to see what they looked like. I'm certainly not disappointed with my choice! :D

Thanks again-

I hope it isn't more than 48 hours. But, I'm sure they'll make me sweat it out for the stainless version.

If you talk with me; maybe I'll get a Colt but it won't stay original. I've seen MUCH improvement on the last couple NRM's I've seen.

todesengel,

We would love to see you get a NRM Colt and customize it also. I was actually just ribbing kcrowder who has always said the pony never had any special "mojo".

Best,

Ray

I'm honest with you; I've owned several ORM's when I was new to 1911's and found later on that they are just not worth the money to me because of the many flaws each had. I never stopped looking at the Colt's but just recently I noticed big improvements on the NRM's. Now that I've seen those "better" colts, I am thinking about purchasing one and have it customized. Speaking of customizing, any Idea what I could have done to my Enhanced SS Officer's ACP?

Ray,

It's not mojo it's mofo, and how can a guy not own one of these cute little guns when all his desert buddies won't touch anything else. Ted says he is going to hold onto a blued Commander for me, so that really might be a nice looking pair. Well, at least they'll be cute.

Each time I look at the pictures of this gun I find myself torn. I like the matte blue finish on my personal Colt 1*, but then this one looks so damn nice with the bright blue finish. Then again, hard chrome would be nice for wear and corrosion resistance. What's a guy to do?? Maybe order one of each... of course a two-tone would be kinda of cool too. I need to get my surgery done, recover, and then get back to work FAST.

John,

Just picked it up after the 10 day wait last night. I'll try to shoot it in the next couple of days, but since my back prevented me from being down at an ITTS three day this weekend it might be a few more days. Since it is so pretty I might just let it sit for awhile before I beat the sh*t out of it. :D
