any one own or have had a chance to handle , shoot one???
Is this a finicky seacamp type pistol. I looked at the Kahr polymer micro
9mm yesterday but have ''heard'' that it is an iffy proposition. Anyway just still hunting for a deep concealment 9mm type pistol  .

I just picked up a Kahr PM9 but haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. From what I understand, they had some issues with the early specimens, but have them corrected now.

My oldest son and I are going out tomorrow morning to put around 300 rounds through it. If it would be helpful, I'll let you know my thoughts afterwords.

Thank You Banker and yes please give a report. The one I looked at would ''catch'' the slide on the hood of the barrel.
By the way do you post as Banker on the 1911 forum??? 8)

Yes Machinist, that's me. I've used that name on most of these forums for simplicity sake.

The PM9 really shot very well. We put just over 250 rounds through it Saturday morning with absolutely no failures of any kind. My youngest son, who is pretty small even shot it without problems. He loved it.

We fed it a pretty good variety of ammo, ranging from Winchester White Box FMJ to Federal Hydra-Shoks. It ate them all and spit them in a 4-5 foot circles behind and to the right.

My pistol 'feels' like the slide catches a bit when an empty magazine is in it, but doesn't catch at all when loaded or when the mag is removed. All in all, it'll make a fine carry piece when my attire won't let me carry one of my pet 1911s.

Thank you for the info Banker. I want to get one of those PM9s myself because the light weight revolver is not working out for me, the fat cylinder digs into me and is uncomfortable. :(
By the way I bought an EX Companion from you on the 1911 forum and it
has worked out great.

Glad to know the leather is working for you! I don't think you'll regret the PM9, just remember is sure isn't a 1911! Do yourself a favor and buy a good leather pocket holster for it.

I'm carrying mine right now at the office and I don't even notice it's there. Course, I get that way with a 1911 also. Too bad (sort of) we don't wear coats at my office, I'd still feel beter with a piece of Don Williams' handywork on my hip!

Thanks Witherspoon! Both of my boys love to shoot, we just don't get to do it often enough. They both started when they were 4 or 5 years old. The oldest is saving his money to buy a .45. He wants a good base gun that he can someday have a custom built from. :D

By the way Banker I took my three year old to the gun shop today and swapped out my 325PD S&W revolver for a Black Diamond coated stainless slide PM9 with night sights. I will post a report to you soon.
And yes I will get a good pocket holster for it.
After using an Ex Companion with my compact 1911 I was glad to get the fullsize holster from ya!!!
Ya got a Don W. piece huh.......
Thank You,
Scott

I carry a Kahr pm9. I carry as a back up on guty and as an off duty. I have shot many rounds through it w/ no problems.
It shoots POA, and has night sites. I would by and recommend Kahr products.

For what it's worth , I vacillated for a long time about a Kahr . I thought I wanted an Elite 2003 because it was all steel and then decided that was too heavy . Next I considered a .40 , but when I rented one it was a jamomatic and the recoil was severe . Finally , after talking to Lou Alessi about it's intended purpose (an ankle gun and pocket gun when wearing shorts) , I bought the PM9 . I only have about 350 rounds through it so far , and I'm not carrying it yet , but I've shot 4 different kinds of ammo and haven't had one failure of any kind . It's light , recoil is very manageable , and it's quite accurate at 7 yards . I think it's an unbeatable choice for my purposes...Tom

I have the all steel version MK9 with about 600-700 rounds through it. It has been 100% reliable and is actually a joy to shoot in 9mm.

A mild dehorn, stippling of the front strap, & action smoothing to date. New sights and some interesting cosmetics are in the future for it also.

The trigger pulls smoothly at 5 lbs. with no stacking and the accuracy is suprisingly excellent with the factory barrel.

I have only put about a 100 rounds thru my PM9 but it is accurate and reliable so far. My pocket holster and pocket spare carrier I ordered from Ken Null came the day before XMas 8) . Now I need a dehorn job on the slide n trigger Ray.

First post here. I have had a PM9 for quite a while now, and have had zero problems. It's creeping up on 1000 rounds, and hasn't given me an ounce of trouble. Highly recommend them.

I have a Kahr PM9 and a Rohrbaugh R9S. They are both nice for their intended purpose but the R9S is considerably smaller and thinner. I haven't had a chance to shoot either to any great degree but I think the shooter will feel more recoil with the R9S. I think it's easier to shoot than a scandium J frame and it seems to be very accurate. It's quite a bit mroe money that the PM-9 but, if you want a 9 MM for pocket carry, the R9S is a much better choice. I can take some measurements of the two if you need them.

Thank you Matt!!! I appreciate the offer but I went ahead and swapped my S&W 325 scandium for a PM9 Kahr and am happy so far. :D I definitely am alot more accurate with this pistol. I emailed you from my work inquiring about a pocket holster and spare mag holder but alas you are quite busy as of now 8) so I had Mr. Null make me one due to the fact that he is currently not backlogged :o and I needed something soon. Trust me Matt you are in my future plans for a holster  . I first heard about you in an article by Peter J. Kokalis when he discussed custom holster makers, Lou Alessi, Milt Sparks, Ken Null, Kramer, Sam Andrews, & YOU. I have items from each except you and Lou but I plan on taking care of that!!!

We've sold about 5 of the R-9's since last summer . Could have sold more if we could have obtained them . No reported complaints so far .

I've shot our store owner's personal pistol a little . It worked 100% . The only thing I would change is the gripping surface . It wants to "squirm" while shooting . We put a small amount of skate board tape on the front strap which much improved the grip . Maybe some slightly more agressive checkering on the grip panels might help ?

There's nothing out there this small with this much power . imo
