Yesterday the fedex man dropped off my belated Christmas gift to myself! a Heirloom Precision signature grade 1911.

Together with the gun that it is modeled after -- an all original "brushed blue" Colt from 1918. Notice the same roll marks and John M Gibert inspection stamps.

Thank you Heirloom and Ted for a pistol that exceeds my expectations. It was worth the wait! :)

Beautiful. Funny how steel and wood can elicit such an emotion. Most modern service guns have no soul. What is the watch? Very neat.

A treasure to be sure. Simply elegant.

As the third and often quiet member of Heirloom Precision I would like to say that is a beautiful gun and glad you are enjoying it.

While at SHOT, when I was showing guys the raffle gun package, I always called their attention to the box, which was pretty much like yours. As a guy who can make most anything out of metal, but who is a total screwup with wood, I was just amazed by it. I made sure everyone knew that is not something made off shore, not something we got from the "nice boxes" catalog, not something production made in a fancy box factory somewhere.

Those boxes are crafted by Ted Yost.... most excellent stuff! Oh yeah the gun's nice too :D

I, as always, fully concur with Mr. Harrison's assessment of these pistols: "Saaa....weeeeeet!".
Also the other profound statement made by Ross pertaining to the emotion that I am sure all of us 1911 fanatics feel about these steel and wood works of art is "right on target". These guns represent what I feel is the Holy Grail of the Custom 1911. In my short 10 year search for MY perfect 1911, I can now say "MY SEARCH is over", because of these guns pictured here. I think the term: "warm and fuzzy" is how I feel at this moment. Thanks for sharing these fine pistols with all of us. What a great contribution you have made to this site with these great photos.
