Good evening all'

I'm hoping someone here at ltw will know if Colt has any intent to get the 1911 Colt Rail Gun on the California Department of Justice's roster of approved hand guns. I've tried calling Colt a few times and they simply do not answer their phone. I wasn't able to find an e-mail address for customer service either.

I live in California and want to use a rail gun for my next build and I'm interested in the Colt for a base gun. That said, if Colt does not plan to get it CA DOJ approved, does anyone have any experience comparing a SA Operator to the Colt as a base gun? The Operators are available in Calfornia.

TIA
Mitch

Consider the SSE or single shot exemption. Google around and you will find the details. There are rumors about a new bill and proposals for a rule change next year, and so you might consider jumping in the loop hole and taking advantage of it whilst you still can. Good luck with it.

If you still have questions after searching, feel free to message me. I compiled the sticky at Calguns regarding single shot exemptions. Don't compromise on your dream gun.

Thanks for the SSE suggestion. I checked that out on Calguns. I'll keep that in mind as an option but, I'd personlly prefer to use a base gun that's clearly on the DOJ roster.
